At haystak, we knew there had to be a better way to find those files that were stashed in various “file cabinets” all over the network. We had files on local systems, servers, cloud services as well as information in various databases. Finding a specific piece of information in that vast mountain of data was time-consuming and we were limited to searching by file names or directory names. We wanted to be able to find that one piece of information based on any number of characteristics. After complaining to each other for months, we decided to do something about it!

The team at haystak are idea people. We had a problem and came up with a solution to address that problem. In the end, the solution to our problem seems to also be the solution to a problem most people with large amounts of data experience. After talking to people from government agencies, large tech companies, and even law enforcement we decided to share this solution with others.
